Basics of the System
This RP is being run using the most recent update of the Pokemon Adventures fan-made roleplaying game, the ORAS update (also known as Player's Handbook #3). They also maintain a wiki, which you can find here, although it's worth noting that it's fairly incomplete. For the most part, it uses traditional D20 (think Dungeons and Dragons) for any of the actions the Trainers take, while a slightly adjusted version for the actions their Pokemon take.
Now and again, things will clash with how the system says it should work - naturally, if the two players involved can't come to a decision on their own (or I am involved directly), as the GM my saying goes. Rule Zero is a thing, after all.
When a situation calls for a dice roll, this forum does have a way of rolling dice built in. When you make a NEW post (not the first part of a thread - also, this CANNOT be a quick reply, it needs to be done with the button in the top-left), you will see a part underneath the 'preivew/send' buttons that lets you select a die to roll. This does not include modifiers, so remember to write down what you are actually rolling in the post like this:

Re: Basics of the System
The member 'Admin' has done the following action : Die roll
#1 'D20' : 9
--------------------------------
#2 'D10' : 1, 3

Re: Basics of the System
As you can see, this creates another post immediately below the one where you listed the action you are performing. While this does create clutter, it'll have to do.
To follow the example of the Bug Bite attack, the D20 result was a nine, which is a hit. The two D10 results were, in turn, 1 and 3 - so the attack is dealing 4+8 damage, for 12 damage before Attack/Defense modifiers.
