What in the- George paled at the realization of what happened.  It was a strategy he'd only seen once or twice in his career, and one that was far too strange to reliably do.  Now he just had to pray that Renegade could pull through.  Nodding to the bird as he cartwheeled through the air and righted himself, George's voice rang out, "Alright Renegade, stay of of Air Cutter for now and rush in with Quick Attack!  Leave no room for error!"

Flying up and making what amounted to a pose for a bird, Renegade tucked his wings and divebombed towards the Spinda with anger burning in his eyes.  This was going to be a rough match, to be sure.

Nataraja stumbled backwards, but at least now that the Pidove was down next to the Spinda they could strike back. Lily nodded, her grin growing slightly more vicious. "Rapid Spin!"

Rotating on one foot again, the Spinda leaped forwards, its confusion not affecting its already confused attack patterns as it slammed into the Pidove.

Lily frowned, tossing Nataraja's pokeball up and down in her hand a few times. Renegade was too far away to get to without risking a Quick Attack, which would almost always knock her out. So...

"Alright. I give up." Lily admitted reluctantly, withdrawing Nataraja before the bear could hurt itself like it had a tendency to do.

Wow, that battle was over... So it was about to be Lambda's turn. She looked at her three pokemon and sighed; the one she wanted to train most had a bit of a disadvantage... Noel and Budew wasn't a good matchup. Well, unless she got clever... All right, she could work with that.

"Noel, Ragna, which of you wants to be in this fight more?" She regretted asking.

"TREECK" "VEE" Yeah that was just way too fast. And loud. "Okay, you know what? Noel. And then we can ask the other guy for a fight, and you can get in on the action, Ragna."

The Eevee plopped onto its belly, sulking. It could win that fight. It could win it faster than that tiny gecko.

Recognizing the attack for what it was, Durga let out a meep and lowered his head, causing Treecko's leer to stare...right into the reflective orb between his ears, rebounding the psychological effects onto himself.

Deciding to press her advantage, Lily took a deep breath and pointed to a few jutting rocks that had been raised from the floor by the earlier battle. "Durga! Psyshock! ...paying for that TM has really paid off..."

Using its psychic power, Durga ripped some of the rocks out of the ground and flung them at the Treecko.

Lambda couldn't believe it. First the Ninjask, now this. This was outright bullshit. By her foot, Ragna looked on judgmentally and murmured a few "vee"s under his breath, confident he could've done that better.

But, Noel had one trick up her sleeve. Just one. It wouldn't quite bail her out, but–

Oh right her little Treecko didn't have Overgrow. Ahahahaha... Oh, fuck. "Noel, if you can wrangle it, Pound. And prepare a Quick Attack after. We've got to hit is hard and fast, and..." She couldn't help but droop. Yeah, this was a definite loss... unless some kind of miracle happened.

Lily sighed miserably as Durga found herself being batted around by Noel's attacks, an attempt to back off and use Psyshock interrupted by the Quick Attack her opponent had set up - which hit the Spoink hard enough to send her hurtling across the room and smashing into a wall. "...I really need to get around to teaching her some other ones..."


She withdrew the fainted Spoink before she could stop bouncing, hooking the pokeball on her belt next to Nataraja's. Just one pokemon left - and it wasn't for either of these trainers. "I don't suppose either of you know a fourth person, right?"

Yes! Yes, yes, yes, YES! Lambda jumped around victoriously while Robin twittered a cheer and Ragna raised a dumbfounded eyebrow at the sudden turnaround. What a kickass li'l Treecko! It took her some time to get going, but she was getting better for sure. "C'mere, Noel!" She ran onto the field and happily giggled as the gecko leapt into her arms and stuck to her like glue. With a kiss to Noel's forehead, Lambda danced back to the sidelines.

You could really tell her luck had been shit as of late.

Well, at least her opponent was happy. Lily shook her head and giggling slightly, nodding towards the stairs. "Come on, let's go get them all healed up and see if there's anyone else we can talk to. Unless you two want to have a go against each other, anyway - seeing as I hogged the battles to myself."

She'd really just jumped into the fight because, well, it was a chance, and she wasn't letting it pass by. She trotted out of the arena and off to see the nurse, letting Noel get treatment for her fight and check up on that wild Taillow. Her hand still twinged.

Her voice trailed away as Lambda went up the stairs, where the bedraggled-looking Joy pointed at a birdcage the wild pokemon had been put in. "In the future." She said, wearily "We don't normally care for uncaught wild pokemon. I suggest you take it outside, then release it or catch it as normal."

Lambda flattened her eyebrows. That was ridiculous– she didn't have a potion, and she couldn't just leave the thing to be hurt like hell. She sighed and picked up the birdcage, mumbling to herself about how cruel it was to leave the bird untreated.

She sat outside the pokemon center and opened the cage carefully before speaking. "I told you that if I won, you'd join me, and if you won, I'd leave you be and you could brag. You didn't knock out Robin here when you thought you had, and that let her win the fight. Anyways, I'm letting you pick what you want to do, but I wanna say a couple things first."

"You're a really strong Taillow. Having you around would be a huge weight off my mind. I've got some challenges ahead of me, not the least of which is capturing that monster Ninjask you might've seen around your home. Having a bird like you around for dealing with it would help immensely, plus you'd get serious bragging rights. And lastly, if you stick with me, you get plenty of time to get revenge on Robin for kicking your ass."
