Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
Tripping and falling like a graceful and drunk ballerina, George laid on the ground as he stared at his fist, then the Zubat, and then back to his fist. No one would ever speak of this again, if his life depended on it. Turning his attention back to Jackson, he barked "Just...use Pound! Get that thing off of you and let's reset!"
Regaining his composure from seeing his trainer so gracefully embarrass himself, Jackson squeaked and lashed out at the Zubat with its other fin, hoping to knock it loose.
Pound damage: 1d12+12

The Zubat is knocked prone due to taking damage equal to over half its health in one attack (after reducing the damage of 15 by its Defense of 4, it took 11 out of its 18 health) and spends its entire turn getting back into the air, visibly less agile.
Grunt Turn
The decides to focus on getting the obviously more competent Piplup out of the fight, slashing at it instead. To hit a pokemon, he needs to get equal to its 'Dexterity' (Def+1/2 Speed or Speed + 1/2 Def, whatever is higher) on a D20 roll, since humans attack in a different manner than pokemon. Then, he does D6+1 damage, just as he did to George earlier.
Jackson's 'Dexterity' is 9.

The Grunt has hit, but only does two damage - which is reduced by the Piplup's defense of 7 into absolutely nothing, just a slight score across his back. It is now George's turn - he has to use his Move action to stand back up, but still has his Trainer action to either attack himself, or send out another pokemon.
Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
Standing up and taking a deep breath to collect himself, George assessed the situation once again. The grunt was visibly annoyed at his utter failure to harm Jackson, and the Zubat flying above seemed out of sorts. Thinking it was about time to put this away, he reached into his pack once more for his other companion. "Alright Cecillia, I could use your help!" A flash of light later and his Seawaddle stood ready for action.

Nodding to the tiny caterpillar, George pointed at the Grunt. "Tie him up with String Shot, and let's get the hell out of here!"
Letting out a cry, Cecillia opened her mouth and let loose an inordinately large amount of white string at the Grunt, belying her tiny size. Just where did it all come from?

Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
The Grunt has now been Slowed by 1 stage, meaning that he'll need to spend an action next turn freeing himself or risk being trapped in the near future. It is now Jackson the Piplup's turn.
Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
As Cecillia was taking care of the grunt, George turned back to Jackson and pointed skyward. "Alright pal, one more time! Shoot it out of the sky with Bubble!"
Readying himself, Jackson once more fired a stream of watery projectiles skyward, hoping this time that the Zubat wouldn't get any bright ideas and dodge again.
Bubble Strength: 1d6+16

The attack has hit the Zubat, and while it would normally also reduce the opponent's Speed on a 19, it doesn't matter as it does a grand total of 17 damage! (the 1 from the dice roll, 3 from the attack's basics, 11 from Jackson's SpecAttack, and 2 from STAB). The Zubat has a SpecDef of 4, so it does 13 damage - and the Zubat only has 7 health left. It is knocked unconscious, and Jackson and Cecilia get XP!
For being in the battle, they both get 50xp. For KOing a Level 6 pokemon, Jackson gets another 60xp, and half of that is handed out to other (not-unconcious) pokemon in the party. Jackson has gained a total of 110XP, and Cecilia 80XP out of the 1500 needed to reach Level 11.
It is now the Grunt's turn, and he spends it slashing his way out of the string shot residue and recalling his Zubat. He doesn't have any other pokemon, and he looks nervous - mostly due to the pokemon. George himself does not intimidate him.
Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
Seeing that the Grunt had freed himself and was looking angrier than ever, George decided that once again, he needed to be tied up. "Alright one more String Shot and then we can get out of here!"
Once more Cecillia fired string at the Grunt, lasooing him with surprising precision.

Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
Seeing that the Grunt had been tied up in his embarrassment, George recalled both of his Pokemon. "Alright you two, it's time we got the hell out of here. Let's go." Two beams of red light and both of his Pokemon were back safely in their Pokeballs and into his pack. Turning towards the exit of the checkpoint George quickly dashed towards the Rustboro exit.

George has gotten a Critical Success, and manages to slip away completely, the Rocket Grunt completely lost as to where he could have gone. In addition, he manages to lose his bloodied clothing, bandage his wound and acquire a fresh coat - his previous most distinguishing characteristic - in a matter of minutes, blending in completely. Upon his arrival at the Pokemon Center - after waiting an hour to make sure he couldn't just be caught there - he got his pokemon healed, and started writing out the form to receive his official Trainer Card so that this incident wouldn't happen again - at least, not in the same way.
Re: George Polar - Solo Thread #1
George has reached the Pokemon Center safely, and can now take part in the events of the forum's first Main Thread, Rustboro City: Legitimate Buisnessmen. The thread is now locked.
